How to change your life
Parents,
We started the New Year with a series over the weekend called “Follow Me”. The words “Follow Me” were the words Jesus used while He was here on this earth to get people to check out what He was doing up close and personal. Those who chose to follow Him had their lives changed for the better in incredible ways. Thus, this series is all about helping students see that if they truly want to change their lives this year, the greatest thing they can do is follow Christ more closely.
We had each of the students write down something they wanted to change about their lives this year. We told them not to focus on that thing this year, but rather focus on following Christ more closely this year and watch how that thing naturally changes. We would like for them all to look back at the thing they wrote down one year from now and see the difference in their life since they made a choice to follow Christ more closely.
As parents, some ways that you can encourage your son or daughter to follow Christ more closely this year are as follows:
• Help keep them in regular attendance at church this year
• Get them connected to a Small Group when we re-launch them (details coming soon)
• Hold them accountable for reading through the bible
• Hold them accountable for SOAPing what they learn in the bible
I’m sure that you’ll see a difference in your son or daughter’s life by the end of this year if they truly follow Christ more closely!
