High School Camp Day 4

What a week! It has been incredible and tomorrow we are going to be headed home! WOW! Today was a blast and when we say that we have been enjoying God’s Creation this week, today we got to go up against one of His greatest challenges, white river rapids! But let’s start from the beginning:

We got to sleep in a bit today and we had breakfast shortly after 9 AM. We had the pleasure of having Lori Rohlinger’s World Famous Biscuits and Sausage Gravy. I, for one, am a huge fan. It was totally the fuel that we needed for the day. Then we got to hear Christina Ennis’ story. If you know Christina, you know that it was entertaining! She is awesome!

We then had some quiet time with God and got ready to head out to the rapids. We were on the water around noon and it was cool, figuratively and literally. Obviously, because of the water, electronics were out of the question so we are short on pictures. But, trust me, it was a blast. When we finished there, we headed to the park next to the boat charter and had pizza. Then it was off to downtown Durango to hang out. It is a really cool old town and fun to see all of the stores.

We then headed back to the lodge, got cleaned up and went to dinner of fajitas! It was really good stuff. After dinner it was off to Family Meeting time which, as always on the last day of camp, was so impactful. It started with Zach Rohlinger, Pastor Greg’s son, answering questions from the students about what it is like to be a pastor’s kid. Then came the stories of Brandon & Billi Jones. They are great leaders and have such a heart for the students. Their stories had a great impact on the students.

We finished off the night with a game that helped everybody get to know each other, worship music with Derrick Logan and then Pastor Greg’s message. Tonight’s theme: Choosing who we serve. It really tied it all together for the week and meant a lot to all the students.

As you might imagine, after a day on the river and a night of powerful worship, we (and when I say we, I mean leaders) are quite tired and have quite a ride Friday. Pray for safe travel and we are all ready to see everybody this weekend. Don’t forget, full photo coverage on the Gallery page.
